The Official Selection list of films for the 2024 Yeh! Nah! Horror Film Festival program, to screen this coming Halloween have been announced.
From over 75 submissions, a total of 36 films have been chosen, from Horror Filmmakers orginating locally in Canberra, to across Australia and beyond, with International entries hailing from USA, Canada, UK, Norway and Italy. The films, while all horror films, have a diverse range of secondary genres including Sci-fi, Comedy, Psychological, Thriller, Zombie, Supernatural and even an Indigenous story.
Award Nominations for each of the categories will be annouced in the next week.
The program will screen across 7 days of Halloween themed events starting from Friday 25th of October for an Opening Night Screening at Canberra's biggest multiplex, Dendy Cinemas. The closing night screening will happen on Thursday 31st October also at Dendy Cinemas.
A key feature of the 2024 program will be a (late) 10 year anniversary screening of Canberra -produced Zombie feature film, Theatre of the Dead, written and directed by Patrick J. Gallagher.
The festival is supported by the Academy of Interactive Entertainment and AIE Film School, with a number of events taking place on the AIE Canberra campus in Watson.
Program details are being finalised and tickets will go on sale in the next couple of days. Festival Passes for all 7 days of events will be available for purchase, as will individual event tickets.
